For the first time ever, the famed 48 Hour Film Project has embarked on a VR competition, in just one weekend!
In collaboration with the CineGlobe Film Festival at CERN, GoPro, the World VR Forum, and the Geneva International Film Festival Tous Ecrans, the 48 Hour Film Project VR Edition invites creators to produce a 3 to 7 minute 360 degree film in 48 hours, in a genre of science-fiction.
As part of this inaugural event, GoPro provided 6 Omni camera rigs and the video-stitching software Kolor Autopano Video Pro.
The films will be screened during the CineGlobe Festival on Friday, March 24th, during a special evening programme. Each VR film will be shown on the big screen in the 16:9 Kolor viewer, steered by the film’s director. Then, the participants and public will be invited to share in an aperitif, where they will be able to watch the films again on Samsung Gear headsets while they speak with the participants about their experience.
